A brief for established small businesses
Your online presence needs one person on watch.
If your website is aging, your vendors are disconnected, or the useful work keeps landing back on your desk, I build the system and take responsibility for keeping it useful.
Most established businesses do not need another vendor selling a new website and disappearing. They need the website, search presence, customer intake, and back-office systems to work together, with one person responsible when they do not.
01 / THE DIFFERENCE
The point is not more software. It is less fragmentation.
I build each site personally, using AI as a tool for research, drafting, and cleanup. The judgment, architecture, fact-checking, and accountability are mine. That lets one operator bring more attention to the work without pretending a large team is standing behind it.
The result is not a site handed off into a queue. It is a working part of the business: clear to customers, measurable to you, editable when needed, and connected to the systems that move an inquiry toward real work.
02 / THE OFFER
Start with the layer your business actually needs.
TIER 01
The Website
A fast, clear site that makes the next step easy, with hosting, maintenance, and attentive upkeep included.

The Online Presence
Your site, search presence, reviews, content, ads, and reporting managed as one connected system.

The Back Office
A practical operating hub for the work behind the site: intake, customer records, quoting, workflows, and reporting.
See the back-office tierEach engagement is scoped as a setup plus an ongoing retainer. Exact numbers belong in a proposal built around the work, not on a generic rate card.
03 / THE TRUST MOVE
Do not take my word for it.
Put the work in front of the most skeptical reviewer available to you. I design every project to withstand an adversarial review, including the unglamorous questions about migration, ownership, accuracy, security, and what happens after launch.
Review this website as a skeptical advisor to the business owner. Identify unsupported claims, conversion problems, migration risk, ownership concerns, missing proof, and anything that should prevent the owner from approving the work. Be direct. Do not assume the builder is right.
04 / HOW IT WORKS
A documented path from first look to steady watch.
- 01
I build the proof
Before asking for a meeting, I build enough for you to judge the work itself.
- 02
We correct the facts
You review one plain-language fact sheet. I turn your corrections into the final site.
- 03
I map the move
Every useful old URL, claim, and search footprint gets a documented destination.
- 04
I stay on watch
After launch, I maintain the system, report what changed, and remain accountable for it.
05 / SEARCH, WITHOUT THE SNAKE OIL
People ask AI for answers now. The fundamentals still matter.
There is no secret switch that makes a business appear in every AI answer. I focus on the durable work: useful original content, clear facts, sound structure, real local authority, consistent business information, and pages worth citing. If an “AI optimization” tactic cannot be measured or explained plainly, it does not belong in the plan.
The evidence is unusually clear. Ahrefs studied 137,000 domains and found that 97% of published llms.txt files received no requests during the measured month. Google says there is no special AI Overview optimization required beyond the same sound search fundamentals. I still ship low-cost machine-readable files when useful, but I do not sell them as a visibility strategy.
WORKING PRINCIPLE
Build the best answer. Keep it accurate. Make it easy for people and machines to understand.
06 / NEXT STEP
Bring me the part of your online presence that keeps coming back to your desk.
We will spend one focused call on what is working, what is costing attention, and whether Watchstander is the right operating model for it.
